This lovely soft edged cross is carved from olive wood by Christian craftsmen in Bethlehem and has an elegant engraving which reads: “He is Risen”. It reminds us both of the Messiah’s sacrifice and of the Messiah’s victory. The cross is empty. What was once a symbol of the power of Caesar, the shame of sin, and the inevitability of death has become a glorious proclamation of the power of God, the freedom of forgiveness, and the hope of the resurrection. “O death, where is thy sting?” (1 Corinthian 15:55). Each cross has its own district wooden color, adding to its individuality and charm.
