Skull Hill ca. 1900 – Small Photograph

$9.99

Snce 1842 many Christians have believed that this outcropping of rock (now known as Skull Hill) found just north of the old city and very nearby to the Garden Tomb may mark the location of the biblical Golgotha – the site where the Messiah was crucified. This historical photograph of Skull Hill was taken around year 1900 shortly after the establishment of the Garden Tomb. The photograph captures a pastoral scene of local Jerusalemites with a caravan of camels walking along the old dirt road which encircled the walled city. In the background you can see a clear image of Skull Hill – potentially the area where Jesus was crucified – as well as the newly constructed walls of the Garden Tomb and the area known as Jeremiah’s Grotto. (24.5 cm x 19.5 cm)
